Cavendish House
Cavendish House is registered to provide six residential beds and has, over time, evolved into an all male service, reflecting the particular needs of the whose users have been with us for a number of years. Cavendish endeavours to offer a family-like environment, where service users are encouraged to take responsibility for household and domestic chores; also, to prepare their own meals on a daily basis, should they wish to do so, subject to individual risk assessment and care planning.
Our primary aim is to enable and support vulnerable people to achieve lifestyles that are both satisfying to themselves and valued by others in society, facilitated through individually tailored support packages of care. The team at Cavendish House believes that this can be achieved on a person centred basis, by valuing both the individual and those within their social networks.
Dining
Service users at Cavendish House cook on a rotation basis with staff, in accordance with their respective risk assessments and care plans. There is a six-week menu which is developed with a Dietician, taking into consideration service users’ health needs, preferences and any known allergies. All food is shopped for with service users, produced freshly every day and we never use processed products, such as jars of cook-in sauces, etc. maintaining peoples’ physical and mental health. Staff and service users also eat together to promote therapeutic social role modelling.
